New RFL Website Features Expand Convenience and Outreach
New features just added to the Results for Life website make it more convenient for users and more effective in sharing news about the value of laboratory medicine.
- The site can now send website updateswhen new information or announcements are posted on the sitedirectly to an individual user's e-mail account or web homepage. The service is called "RSS" for "really simple syndication," and website users can subscribe by clicking on the logo in the upper right corner of the "What's New" section of the RFL website. There, they can decide how they want the information delivered to them.
- The site also provides a "tell-a-friend" feature on every page so users can alert colleagues or other lab professionals about Results for Life. The goal is to encourage networking and to build greater awareness in the laboratory community about the Results for Life campaign.
The site is also undergoing a "search engine optimization" review to increase the likelihood that browser searches will display the site prominently.
